EXPLORING OUR SURROUNDINGS
Me and Tom are 100% creatures of habit and I think if we could hibernate without worrying that people may wonder where we were, we would. But after a tough few weeks on the anxiety front, I have made a vow that we will force ourselves to leave the house and, most importantly Southampton, and go and explore the lovely places that we are lucky to live so close to.
After breakfast at our favourite coffee hangout (are we hipster enough yet?), Mettricks, we popped on a train down to the New Forest town of Brockenhurst. It has the cutest, smallest village centre which consists of a butchers, hardware shop, cake shop and three tearooms - just what you need right?! And of course, there was bunting. We couldn't resist being absolute tourists, getting in peoples way and taking lots of photos.
We also went hunting for ponies and donkeys and saw SO MANY DOGS I nearly exploded. We could have walked forever following tiny footpaths and discovering cute houses and scenery and DOGS but after a spot of lunch (quiche, it was great) we hopped back on a train and went to the little marina town of Lymington.
Now, me and Tom have a daily conversation about where we would live when we are grown up and rich. It often varies depending on mood and current affairs. Today, and for the foreseeable future, it will be Lymington. It is so cute and calm and the water lets me breath a bit better both physically and mentally. So until we have our little studio by the water where Tom will sell his photographs and I will draw and do live portraits with a million children and dogs and cats surrounding us, we will always visit.
To top the day off, we had an obligatory cup of tea and scone in this lovely little tearooms on the hill.
See you soon, you lovely places!! xxx
